Grisovin FP is an antifungal medication. It is like an antibiotic but is used to treat fungal infections. Grisovin FP may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

Take Grisovin FP exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these instructions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you. Take each dose with a full glass (8 ounces) of water. Your doctor may recommend that you take Grisovin FP with a fatty meal to increase its absorption into your body. Take all of the Grisovin FP that has been prescribed for you even if you begin to feel better. Your symptoms may begin to improve before the infection is completely treated.

How much you take and how often you take it will depend upon the strength of the Grisovin FP and your condition. Take strictly as directed by your physician usually with a high fat meal such as a glass of whole cream milk to help it absorb quickly into your body. Tell your doctor if you are on a low fat diet.

Do not alter your dose or suddenly stop taking Grisovin FP without consulting your physician, even if you are feeling better. If you do, your symptoms may get worse and increase the onset of unwanted side effects. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular schedule. Never take a double dose to make up for the one you missed.

As with all medications, Grisovin FP has the potential to cause side effects in some patients. Common side effects of Grisovin FP include headaches, dizziness, unusual tiredness, stomach pains, vomiting, nausea, sleeplessness, and diarrhea. If these symptoms worsen or persist, contact your physician promptly.

Rare side effects of Grisovin FP include jaundice, weakness, numbness, pain, or tingling in your feet or hands, a sore throat, and fever. If you experience any of these symptoms, contact your physician immediately or seek emergency medical treatment.
